BLACK MIDI SAVAGE GARY'S DBDBDB

London's Black Midi have been blowing audiences away across the capital for roughly a year now. With almost zero social media presence, except the occasional gig announcement, this talented young quartet's electrifying live show has seen them fast become London's most exciting musical prospect through word of mouth alone. Their exhilarating debut single 'bmbmbm' arrived 2 weeks ago via producer Dan Carey's DIY record label Speedy Wunderground and now they've shared its mind-bending b-side 'Savage Gary's DbDbDb'. This electronic re-work of 'bmbmbm' was concocted by Carey himself, incorporating the original's dull guitar thud, screaming backing track and singer Geordie Greep's distinctive vocals, on top of sinister, suspense-building synthesizers and trippy electronic elements. Having sold out within days of its announcement, and with copies appearing on Discogs for over £80, Speedy Wunderground will be breaking their own rules to do their first ever second pressing of Black Midi's 7". Keep an eye on their Facebook page if you want to get your hands on one of these rare artefacts. - Holly Mullineaux
